Let's start with something simple. Who is your favorite character from the Balto series?

Balto

For me it's Balto, then i have to say Kodi. Then it would Be Alue... The two polar bears Muk and Luk, you look at them and think *Cuddle!* and the're kinda funny. Boris, love his accent.

For me, I'm thinking Balto, and then maybe Kodi. Nothing against Jenna, but she doesn't seem to get maligned like Kodi does. He needs more support.

Balto (obvious)

The white wolf, from the first movie. It's so misterious...oooo..
Boris: I'm as funny, caring and annoying as he.

No doubt Balto is every ones most favorite character. you could ask any one one Balto source and they would say Balto is their favorite.

Not catwhohas14tails. She hates Balto; hates any virtuous character, pretty much. At least that's how it seems.

Really? Well, perhaps I have misunderstood her, but her malignment of decent characters elsewhere seems in distinct conflict with that. But perhaps I had best say no more.

Well every one has their own perspective on what they like and do not. if she doesnt like balto then that is her choice... Balto rocks though.

Well, I knew Balo since I was like 6-7 years old, and actually loved the movie, and the main character. But I haven't seen WQ (wolf's quest) and WoC(wings of change) until very past that age, still, I could not decide properly... I just loved all three movies.

Post  Zane on Mon Jan 24, 2011 12:29 am

Yeah i loved them as well. the first time i ever watched Balto was like when i was 5-6 and i was in love with it... yes and i also loved WC(wolf quest) and WoC (wings of change) but the very first one was the best, the white wolf scene was pretty cool. and Baltos journy was the main point to the movie.

yeah, in other films the theme ain't that relevantI mean, the kids salvation wins much more points, then a search of "you place" in this worldAt least,. What do you think?

Not as compelling, maybe. But if you look at some of the sub-plots, they're pretty relevant to today's youth. Not so much with Balto 2, maybe, but when you look, for example, at Kodi's position in Balto 3. On the one side, you have his dad, his role model, doing hte right thing, although Kodi doesn't initially recognize it as that. On the other hand you have his teammates, who not unexpectedly wrote him off as a traitor at first for wanting to help Duke. Peer pressure versus conscience is a really big issue with a lot of today's youth.

Yeah, that'r right. The misundesrtood "parent/child" is mostly history (I don't say it ain't important, but that I don't see much things like that today). Time changes almost everything. Kodiak has to choose between what is right (save Duke) and what is easy (leave it). And he doesn't actually realise what's right, because, if he saves the pilot, sled dogs may loose their jobs, and become no longer necesarry. It's very entertaining.

Favorite character? Ooh...thats a hard one. Im torn between Balto and Kodi (Le gasp! =P)
Balto was a childhood hero of mine, but something about Kodis character appealed to me. Pluss, I never really like Baltos color, but loved his personality. I didnt really care all that much for Jennas personality, but loved the color of her coat. Kodi is almost like a "best of both worlds" scenario to me^^

Oh, and im a sucker for pups=P

Balto

Post  Zane on Tue Jan 25, 2011 7:39 pm

I agree, peer presure has gotten me into a few rough spots before. and the thing iv found with peers presure is that people presure you into doing somthing, even though you know its wrong and then they are not willing to help you get out of the situation. Our generation have realy dropped when it comes to respect for people and love for others... we fear what our friends will think of us if we dont do somthing, and when we do that somthing we look back on it and think. (Gee what have i done? why couldnt i have said no? or walked away?) i guess Kodi would have felt the extreme amount of peer presure when his father asked his help and he knew what his friends would have thought of him. being shuned for the right thing is porbebly the worst thing for me...

Right. The peer pressure is one of the most important problems of the human sociecty. The fear of being alone, abandoned, that's what mostly pushes us to do something we don't want, but something the group does. Yeah. Those films can teach you a lot. That's why those are the best.

I would have to say Aleu. Why? Well, it's more of a matter of attachment more than anything: the first time I was introduced to Balto, was when I saw the Balto II premiere on Cartoon Network. I started about halfway through, right when Aleu was in the cave with Muru. I was attached to her from that moment on, and you can imagine how much I was crying when she finally had to leave.

Yes, that was pretty touching. And it does make in interesting when you walk into a movie halfway through. I remember starting in the middle of Tangled when some staff were watching it at camp.
